ICT: Theme based projects

Intended to be used with 11 and 12 ICT classes. Students are free to continue the theme between years with different assessment.
The aim is to show students that ICT can be used to enhance a wide range of areas and to provide a flexible learning environment.

Individual students can be given greater structure or freedom as they require and the teacher led projects will be available for students that require them.

Students are free to complete as many projects as they want to throughout the year but 3-4 is recommended to achieve the assessment. "Student Friendly" assessment schedules will be made available to the students at the start of the year.

ICT are a set of skills that are typically applied to support another area. Students will choose from a set of themes (or make up their own) based on personal interest and then work on skill based projects within that theme. Students are welcome to change themes between projects and can choose to work in teams or independently. For assessment purposes each student will be expected to produce their own final solution but skills and projects can be common.

Skills can be taught to teams on a 'just-in-time' basis or set out across the year. The latter would require students to work on specific projects at a specific time as the skills are taught (or they may explore the skills themselves).
